[Off-network, Liz's comm has been sitting on the table for a long time as she sat and thought about everything that she'd just learned from her quantum leap into this time. A lot of emotions had to be sorted out, a lot of possibilities had to be considered.

Finally she clicks the comm on with a quick motion, as if making a spontaneous decision. Liz is old now, her hair greyed and her skin wrinkled and worn, and something in her face betrays that she might have even been crying. But her eyes are hard and resolute, and as she looks up at the camera and clutches some sort of metal object to her chest, her message is brief and to the point.]

I'm going to investigate the ruins of the tower.

Anybody else who's still alive and thirty years sick of this shit can come with me.

[The feed opens, and it's not Hajime--it's his "daughter," Heather. She's outside in the backyard of the small house they have in the suburbs, and she's looking a bit concerned.]

This is probably going to sound kind of...well, kind of crazy, but...my dad...he...he looks different somehow. Like he's...well...kind of like he's younger, I guess, but that's--

[Whatever she was about to say is cut off by the sudden appearance of a couple of zombies smashing through the fence. The only appropriate reaction to this is, of course, a scream, because that is what one does when zombies crash through one's fence and one was not expecting it. The video feed goes wild for a moment.

Good thing she screamed--it alerted Hajime to the problem. He's charged out of the house and engaged a zombie with little hesitation. Fighting ~~a really, really, really different sort of~~ Undead is what he was born to do, after all. He can only do so much as a normal human, though, and this has forced his hand. He had, up until this point, been very careful not to let on that he had any sort of special powers. Even when asked about the "dreams" he'd had in the coma, he'd just claim to be a perfectly ordinary freelance photographer. So much for that.]

HENSHIN!

[The video feed's still very shaky, but have some footage of Chalice dispatching zombies like a lean, mean zombie-killing machine. He's now retreating from the battle, choosing instead to grab an obviously-shaken Heather and run. He's guiding her towards the motorcycle parked out in front of the house. Good thing he replaced it with that windfall from the Tower business. He's also grabbed the communicator from her.]

I need to know if anywhere is safe. NOW.

[Pause.]

[The fact that Scout is doing this as an audio feed instead of video is a good indicator that something's wrong. But even moreso is the shallow, heavy breathing coming through - has the Scout ever been known to lose his wind? When he swallows thickly and speaks, it's a hushed tone, his voice breaking in a way he would never normally allow. For the first time since he's showed up, he actually sounds frightened. Terrified, even.]

What the hell are these things?

I...I thought those floating guys a few months ago were weird but this--they're not human!

They're so fast--I-I ran like three laps around the border and I couldn't shake 'em. They're everywhere!

[Behind him is a muffled crash that sounds like something throwing itself against a door. Scout seems to suddenly be talking faster, breathing more rapidly.]

They already got the old man. I couldn't see what they did but--I shut myself up in here but I don't think--

[Crash!]

I-I don't know what to do! I'm trapped in here--I don't know what to do!

[CRASH! Scout whimpers audibly and his voice breaks even more, he actually sounds on the verge of tears now.]

I can't go out like this. Not like this. There's still so much...I never even got to tell my Ma--

[And one final CRASH!!! Followed by moaning and the sound of things clawing their way through wood.]

Oh GOD--

[The feed from here on consists of Scout screaming and more moaning and snarling. It sounds horrific, but it only lasts a minute or so before silence, and the feed ends.]

[Burton is leaning against his chest, whining and licking his face, and the robot's fingers curl tightly in the dog's thick fur as he addresses the camera. His eyes are wide and frightened, and he doesn't seem to care who might be listening.] I thought they were just nightmares, but I think I - he - it hurts, it's like he's...angry, as mad he was at Linkara. I remember who that is now. I saw it.

I have been discussing the prospect, both with Haruhi and others, and in light of recent events, I would like to offer my workplace as a safe haven. It is the mortuary in the University district and... while the KRIMP does visit this place to investigate unusual death, they are a rare visit at best. In addition, other external forces... [She pauses, glancing at the communicator to let it sink in - she's talking about the KIM and the Gentlemen that visited around Halloween] ...seem to be unaware of this place, so it may prove to be a suitable hiding spot in case of emergency as long as those hiding are not doing such due to angering the police or Viceroy.

[Another pause, this one much more prolonged as she paces around.]

...so... tell me. Do the others here know of any charities that I might donate a significant amount of money to? I do not feel right owning such dirty coin, and yet to throw it away is wasteful.

[Well, here's a face that hasn't been seen on the network for a good long while. Pollo can't look tired, really, or ill, but there's something in his face and the slump of his shoulders that wasn't there before. He just seems a little worn down.]

So, uh...I was out earlier today, and I...well, I guess he really found me.

[He turns the camera, to the almost unbearably fluffy puppy who is currently lying on his floor, chewing on the leg of his coffee table. Despite that, there's actually a small smile on the robot's face when he reappears.]

I asked around, and he didn't really seem to belong to anyone, so I guess I'm gonna keep him. I've never really had a pet before...what would be a good name for him?

[So, a while back, Jan acquired a large quantity of hamsters. The guy at the pet shop sold him only females, true, but...he'd failed to realize that one of those hamsters was pregnant at the time. And after she'd given birth to a couple of males, well...let's just say that Jan has even more hamsters now. Far more hamsters than any one person could possibly hope to deal with. He's sitting in the middle of a pile of them now with one perched on his head, and behind him is a giant plastic hamster enclosure that his wife had brought home after he'd tried the free range cageless approach to raising hamsters without her input on the matter at all.]

Hey! Heeeeey! Wife-lady got muzumuzu and says I have to find some of these guys new homes! Do you guys want any?

[Chiaki appears on the video feed with a rather disgruntled look on his face. He has just found out that the people here think he is a guy called Altan Genkov and that he is crazy.

On top of being deemed crazy he also apparently has a ten year old daughter (Man he must look old as Altan, given he is only a teen himself!), and from what Chiaki has seen she is just pure evil. Guess which one of these Chiaki is more annoyed about?

After some fighting with the doctors, and somehow managing to stumble onto a friend from his real life Chiaki has settled down and has begun trying to figure out how to use his communicator.]

Daddy! You still haven't taken me to get my unicorn! Stop playing with your communicator and take me home!

Hey... uh... whatever your name is, just shut it and I keep my promise of cake for every meal. If you don't stay quiet I am just gonna leave you at the cheapest, dingiest orphanage I can find! Got it?

[Chiaki rolls his eyes as he looks into the communicator, he really hopes he can find someone SANE to talk too here, he really needs a break in this department.]

Nope. Ryunosuke's grabbing at that communicator now and all but screaming into it. You probably have a great view of the inside of Ryunosuke's mouth, and everything he's saying is running together even faster than before.]
